Freeze dried goodness.....

Thursday nights is anything night in my house. This means anything goes. Mom does not cook and mom does not complain about dinner choices (as long as it isnt cookies or candy). So my choice tonight was Frosty Flakes with freeze dried strawberries. YUM!!! Back in the day, Kellogs made a strawberry frosty flakes. They were So good. This is as close to that as I can get. The rest of the family ate Hamburger helper. (I am evil).

Yesterday was E's birthday. Poor baby woke up sick. :( Mean parents that we are we made her stay home. She was actually upset about that. :( She was well enough to open her gifts, which she loved, and well enough to eat cake (for dinner I might add).

She is still sick, had temps hovering around 101.+ today. :( so she stayed home today and will be home tomorrow too. Mom and dad were not too upset to have to miss work, but dont tell their boss's!!!

Fire, Heat and birthday......

The fires here in Southern CA are bad. San Diego has 500,000 people being asked to evacuate. That is Scary. Its not like they have many places to go. I can imagine the Freeways out of there. Bumper to Bumper. :( I do not envy those people. Of course if we were in the same situation we would have the same options. Depending on the location of the fire we could go North on 101 or South on 101. 101 turns into a parking lot. About halfway between here and Santa Barbara it is a 4 lane (2 going each way) freeway. When the mudslides happened in La Conchita you couldn't even GET to Santa Barbara from here. So sending lots of prayer to all the fire fighters, all the people STUCK in traffic somewhere and hopes of containment soon.

On top of the fire, and the winds that fueled them along, we have HEAT. It got to 90+ degrees today. OUCH. Thank goodness for working in Air Conditioning. I hear the heat is going to go away, it cannot leave fast enough. Oh and speaking of the winds, we had SO many pine needles in the back yard it was like a carpet. The gardeners couldn't even get them all.

Birthday!! Someone in our house has a birthday tomorrow. :) Emily turns 7 Tomorrow. :) Yay.
She told me today she wants to make her birthday list :). um, sorry, all shopping is done. too late. Now she wants to know what I got her. She has to wait.

So thats all the news today. Someone has me overly frustrated over homework so I am taking a break@!!!

Scrap Happy Day.....

I was expecting to go to Softball today, but we have wind. Not just any wind, but wake me up in the middle of the night, afraid a tree is going to fall on my house winds. They are scary. It looks like a war zone outside. There are very few leaves left on the trees. They seem to be all on my front porch. And dont even get me started on the Pine needles. UGH. I feel sorry for our gardeners this week.

Soooooo....since softball was cancelled (on account of the winds being so high they had to take a time out between every pitch to let the dust clear) I got to indulge myself. Boy did it feel good. I did 4 layouts today. Got pictures in the mail yesterday and several are already on pages. I got to do some yesterday too so I am a happy camper. I will have to take pictures to post. I am very pleased with the way everything turned out. Yesterday I did a lot of scraplifting. Today it was all me. and that feels so good. I love to just get creative. I used stamps, paint, ribbons, rubbons, heck I even got out my embossing gun and powder. :) Yay me.

On a not so happy note, i was so busy I never noticed it getting kinda dark. I told Em I would take her to the park but when I went outside, to get a bottle of water to take with me, the Sky was BROWN. Uh oh. There are fires somewhere. So we looked up and found out there is a fire down the road in the Santa Rosa Valley and another one in Malibu. The one in Malibu is bad. They have no containment and it is near homes and businesses. If you read this, say a prayer for Malibu and it's residents. Em is pretty scared. We re-assured her its not close, but it is hard to reassure someone when you aren't 100% sure yourself.

A little Jumpin, and little Scrappin and a little kickin...

All in all its been a good day. Em let me sleep in until almost 7:30. Yawn, thats not TOO bad. :)
Our day consisted of Gymnastics (hence the Jumpin), I got to do 3 scrap pages this afternoon (the scrappin part) and then we went and watched a soccer game of a friend. All in all it was a good day. Oh and I got more pictures in the mail. :) of course I do NOT remember asking for 10 prints of ONE picture but that seems to be what I got. Guess Ill start watching my order a bit better. But I got lots of cute prints from the recent Homecoming dance. Well, before shots anyways. :) The girls both looked so beautiful. I cannot wait to get some pages done of both girls, and the Papers Judy sent me from her CE weekend will go perfect with their dresses. It is a perfect match. :)

Yesterday was my first time helping in emily's class this year. I worked in the Tech lab, getting the kids all logged in and helping out when they closed the page or wanted to do something else. It was fun and Em really loved having me there. We had a lunch date after. It was fun. We stopped by blockbuster on the way home and picked up some great movies (Evan all mighty, Transformers, Because I said so (add this to my christmas list) and Blood and Chocolate). They were all great too -well I have not watched Blood and chocolate but the other ones were great.

Not much exciting here. Just gettin it down. Be cool ....more later.

Rollin, Rollin, Rollin......

Do you ever feel like you spend your life behind the wheel of your car? Lately I do. Thank goodness dance classes have cut back this year, but I am driving more than ever (thanks to a certain 24 year old). Tonight I was in the car for 1 1/2 hours straight. Traffic, bad decisions and more traffic! ugh. and I still have to go BACK out tonight for one more lovely drive to beautiful Downtown Oxnard! GR8. :) Well in some ones immortal words, this too will pass. It is just hell in the mean time.

Well, I guess that is enough complaining for one night. I want to try to post something every day, (for now) so that is it for today. I am going to see what I can do to post a picture now. Tata!

Random.....

Well I have this thing, this blog, and my husband Bob keeps telling me I should blog, so I think it is about time I posted something. Maybe I can get to posting some of the randomness that runs through my head. That would be a novel concept. I might actually remember stuff this way. So here I go.

Lets talk about randomness. I have this 17 year old daughter, lets call her A (I have 2 other daughters but this post is about A).

A is a beautiful girl. Well I think so and hopefully others share my view. A likes to talk. A LOT. She cracks me up. We will be driving to dance (she dances) :) and she will talk the entire 7-10 minute drive. I learn more in that drive than I learned in my whole week from anyone else. If you ever watched the Cosby Show in the 80's, well there was this friend of Vanessa on the show and that girl could talk. She talked fast and she NEVER shut up. Well that is my A. The funny part (to me) is she will be in the middle of a conversation with me and she will just break out in this random fact, totally unrelated to anything we (well she) were talking about. It is usually a funny anecdote from her day, but it is always so Random. She is my Random girl. :)

So, this is a blog huh?
